  • Job Description

    Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.

     

     

    1. Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.

     

    2. Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.

     

    3. Sets up administrator and service accounts.

     

    4. Maintains system documentation

     

    5. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.

     

    6. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

     

    7. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

     

    8. May program in an administrative language.

     

    9. Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.

     

    10. Provides advice and training to end-users.

     

    11. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

     

    12. Participates in special projects as required.

     

    13. Provide Direct IT support to USAICoE Command and subordinate organizations, as it pertains to mission systems. The required services resolve software and hardware problems within USAICOE facilities. These services include all systems and specific entities as identified under the USAICoE G6 area of responsibility and any additional systems installed during this period of performance. The Subcontractor shall provide services to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain IT assets such as computers, thin clients, printers and other hardware such as:

     

    • use Virtual Infrastructure Client software to manage virtual machine images.
    • provide Remedy System Management including: account administration/management and incident lifecycle management (creation through closure).
    • provide account creation for all JWICS, SIPRNET and NIPRNET (Training) accounts. The Subcontractor shall create, establish and delete student and cadre accounts and passwords.
    • assist the Government with coordination with the Installation NEC for Common Level (non-mission system) support by submitting and monitoring incidents through the Army Enterprise Service Desk (AESD) for elevated problems.
    • submit Information Technology Requests (ITRs) for modifications/upgrades to IT systems.
    • recommend multi-user hardware and software that meets common user requirements, IAW USAICoE, G6 configuration management model.
    • provide system administration, configuration, installation and repair of workstations, printers and telecommunication systems
    • monitor the Remedy Trouble Ticket system and respond to assigned incidents
    • diagnose and determine fastest method to return a functioning system to the user (repair or replace)
    • load approved software baselines on workstations and other devices as required.
    • test, stage install, de-install and removal of equipment.
    • assist with boot-up and shutdown of systems when needed.
    • unlock systems locked by incorrect log in attempts.
    • resolve printer issues.
    • provide technical support during video teleconferences (VTC’s).
    • provide “over-the-shoulder” system training for users.
    • deliver a weekly report on the activities and status of all task work items.
    • monitor workstation performance, troubleshoot problems and submit Remedy incidents.
    • submit and monitor incidents through the Army Enterprise Help Desk (AEHD) for elevated problems.
    • submit Information Technology Requests (ITRs) for modifications/upgrades to IT systems.
    • install, configure, maintain, network and communication devices.
    • maintain software and hardware configuration baselines.
    • provide IA services in support of the Federal Information System Management Act.
    • provide audio/visual and Information Technology support to Command special as required by the Command, and maintain all equipment used to support the special events.

    Recommend multi-user hardware and software that meets common user requirements, IAW USAICoE, G6 configuration management model.

    Education

    Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

    Qualifications

    3-5 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.
