  • Job Description


    Under minimal supervision, the Network Administrator - Associate provides support to all Command and Control Mission Systems (C2MS), their associated software, hardware, configurations, and architectures as a part of the Specialized Automated Mission Suite (SAMS). Maintain, and troubleshoot Airborne Mission Network systems. Coordinate with other agencies on configuration of disparate aircraft data system into the Airborne Mission Network Systems. Designs, installs and maintains the network system for multiple classifications and coordinates their use. Maintains and reviews system and security logs. Evaluates hardware and software and peripheral equipment for simple and complex networks. Monitor network performance. Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network. Implements network policies, procedures and standards. Enforces security policies. Evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, performs problem isolation and resolution, monitors, tunes and sets standards. Works with other network professionals as directed to coordinate efforts, resolve cross-team issues and communicate changes.



    1. Experience and knowledge that demonstrates competency with network design, operational support, hands-on implementation, configuration and trouble-shooting of multiple networking platforms and hardware devices is required
    2. CISCO WAN experience required
    3. Aruba WAN experience desired
    4. Experience with various encryption devices such as VPN's, TACLANES, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, and other boundary devices is required
    5. Experience with COMSEC fill devices is required
    6. Knowledge of VoIP protocols H323/SCCP/RTP/QoS/SRST/MGC/SIP desirable
    7. Experience working in a tactical environment, alongside military or DoD personnel, is highly desirable
    8. Familiarity with mission systems and suites such as TBMCS, GCCS, TACLAN, C2PC, and others is a plus
    9. Familiarity with SATCOM and radio platforms required
    10. Good communications skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through
    11. May be required to provide clear and effective direction to less experienced staff
    12. Must be able to evaluate network performance and interact with users to solve problems
    13. Detail-oriented and organized; able to understand network evaluation criteria and be exact in assessments
    14. Must closely follow network protocols and methodology
    15. May review the work of others and be able to detect errors or needed modifications
    16. Requires good working knowledge of network administration and information systems
    17. Ability to troubleshoot a variety of business software applications
    18. Able to distinguish between hardware problems, software problems or user error
    19. Basic business communication skills
    20. Can effectively deliver training
    21. Able to evaluate network performance and interact with users to solve simple and moderately complex problems
    22. Detail oriented and organized; able to understand network evaluation criteria and be exact in assessments
    23. Must closely follow network protocols and methodology


    Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

    DoDI 8570.01m Certification Required (IAT-L2 compliant)

    CCNA-Security Required

    ITIL v3 Certification Desired


    2-5 years of directly related experience in network administration and support.
