With minimal supervision, the Systems Administrator - Senior supports all Command and Control Mission Systems (C2MS), their associated software, hardware, configurations, and architectures as listed as part of the Specialized Automated Mission Suite (SAMS). Works as a member of a diverse integrated project team to ensure all operating mission nodes (operations centers, airborne weapon systems, ground teams, and other) can interoperate and execute synchronized mission activities via their mission systems, connected through various mission networks. Ensures systems are interoperable, networked within, and external to AFSOF, especially between AF and SOF systems. Integrates conventional, special operations, and other systems and applications into light, lean, integrated, interoperable, and scalable packages that are used in-garrison and deployed. Provides higher order systems analysis, and baseline systems development for AFSOF C2MS employment. Develops and tests computer and other device configurations and builds, and develops systems and systems architectures using NIST and DISA STIG standards. Provides security analysis, C2MS support training, and develops C2MS standards for Government approval. Provides Tier II and Tier III support to the Operations team for all SAMS software and hardware suites, including SAMS-C2 Clients and Servers, SAMS Enhanced Situational Awareness (SAMS-ESA), and SAMS Electronic Flight Bag (SAMS-EFB), SAMS Tactical Ground Gateway Radio Suite (SAMS-TGGRS), and other designated C2MS systems. Works with engineering staff in all functional areas to ensure full support and integration of all SAMS, AFSOF unique components, and government systems of record, to include TBMCS UL/FL, GCCS-J/AF, TACLAN, SAMS-C2 Server, SAMS-C2 Client, SAMS-TGGRS, SAMS-EFB, and SAMS-ESA client builds. Leads small to moderate sized projects, and ensures deliverables and timelines are met in accordance with the project plan. Mentors systems administration staff on Systems Administration principles and support for newly engineered SAMS systems. Provides training to government and technical staff on SAMS systems. Assists the C2MS team to ensure all contractual obligations and objectives are met in accordance with the Statement of Work and functional area.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or an IT related field, proven equivalent military training, or work experience is required.
CompTIA Security-Plus with CE certification is required.
One of the following certifications required: RHCSE or MCSE (6 month waiver possible for the right candidate)
One of the following AWS certifications required: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (6 month waiver possible for the right candidate)
2-5 years of related systems engineering experience.
