Serves as a planner within the Security Force Assistance Plans Section (SFA Plans); focused on the Train, Advise, and Assist efforts within the Functionally Based Security Force Assistance (FBSFA) construct. Reports to the DCoS SFA in developing plans and orders for the command that nest with Headquarters, Operation Resolute Support (HQ RS) plans and directives; and briefs the CJ3, CoS, DCOM, and Commanding General as required. Assists the Security Force Assistance and Advisor Teams (SFAAT) in their planning and the execution of their advising efforts with their Afghan Counterparts. Provides focus and attention on the Train, Advise, and Assist efforts while conducting liaison with HQ RS on all matters pertaining to the Train, Advise, and Assist mission. Integrates into all HQ RS “Roadmap”, Essential Function (EF), and Workstrand meetings as the primary Point of Contact (POC). Applies analytic skills across available data to produce assessments in support of planning outcomes. Responsible to create/edit/update briefings and presentations as required by the SFA. Conducts research and data collection to create/edit/update presentations in support of meetings, briefings, requests for information, or as required in support of routine and non-routine projects. Coordinates and sets suspense dates with other personnel on the staff in order to receive the necessary information to complete those requirements. Assists in the creation, submission, and briefing of the Periodic ANDSF Assessment Report (PAAR) and the Periodic Mission Review (PMR) and develops branch, phase, and sequel plans as required. Assist in accomplishment of campaign plan specific goals as specified by the DCoS SFA.
Bachelors Degree in a related technical or military discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work/military experience.
Requires 8-10 years of related experience supporting military operations.
*Former military officer (O-4+) or NCO (E-8+) or Civilian equivalent with Brigade/Division/Corp Operations and Planning experience
*Ability to effectively communicate with senior Coalition officials through written reports, briefings, and oral presentations.
*Eight or more years work experience in the military operations.
*Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
*Minimum of two years' experience with ANDSF Advisory Operations at the Brigade or higher level.
*Must have DoD SECRET Level Security Clearance
