Contract: Army G2 ARIES

Position: Analyst, Configuration – Configuration Manager/Specialist (L2)

Location: Pentagon                                                                                                                                      




GDIT is seeking candidates to support the US Army G2.  Under the Army Intelligence Information Technology Environment Support (ARIES) task order, the G2 supports numerous Army organizations providing mission critical intelligence tailored to the needs of Army senior leaders throughout the globe.  The ability of these organizations to provide this needed intelligence is dependent on the availability and successful operation of their Information Technology (IT).  The ARIES contract provides IT repair, maintenance, operations, logistics, engineering and cybersecurity services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of the organization’s IT systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


Configuration Manager/Specialist will:

  1. Be responsible for configuration management (CM) of developmental and operational systems
  2. Identify configuration items, implement change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits
  3. Work on teams to create and maintain software, hardware, and documentation configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.)
  4. Develop or modify CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system
  5. Implement CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements/capabilities baselines to system end-of-life
  6. Regulate the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software, licenses, media, and other IT assets
  7. Ensure that all changes to the baselines go through appropriate change boards
  8. Track all problems and changes in product documents/software and reports changes, controls standard operating procedures and current configurations
  9. Use or recommend automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures           
  10. Serve as an advisor to (or non-voting member of) Government change control boards (CCB)


Desirable Skills / Experience:

  1. Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high quality environment
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills along with a strong customer service focus and ability to work well as part of a team
  3. Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively including attention to detail
  4. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint
  5. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in configuration management support
  6. Comprehensive knowledge of and familiarity with configuration management software applications                      



  1. DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level I Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
  2. Required Baseline/Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent

Security Clearance:

TS/SCI required


Additional Qualifications:

  1. Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
  2. Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity


High School diploma/GED with 8 years of related experience, or Associate's degree with 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience


2-5 years of related configuration management experience
