Provide leadership, coordinate and direct operations to deliver enterprise level IT services on DoD networks in order to meet established service level agreements (SLA) and customer satisfaction. Direct and synchronize the team member activities to include: the project manager; lead engineer; virtualization; storage; information assurance; system center configuration management; virtualization; remote desktop services; SharePoint; backups; Microsoft Exchange; and AD/DNS. Oversees and monitors incident management/related troubleshooting. Additionally assists in maintaining critical relationships with MAJCOM staff, component commands, a combatant command, IT managers and business systems analysts and business process owners.


Typical duties include: 

  • Reports directly to Site Lead
  • Set up IT support systems so end users can utilize systems with minimal issues
  • Ensure incident reports include adequate notes for later review and analysis
  • Analyze incident trends and recommend corrective actions
  • Providing input to problem management teams during root cause investigations
  • Ensure the incident, problem and change management process is followed
  • Ensuring follow-up change tickets are submitted and scheduled as appropriate
  • Engage and coordinate technical resources across IT support teams
  • Perform notifications and escalations within prescribed service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Track projects through design and execution; ensure smooth transition to production
  • Track latest server vulnerability, ensure patching is performed


  • Bachelors Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • ITIL foundations (Required); Sec + (Required); MCSA (Preferred)


  • At least eight years of experience in IT Operations support
  • At least four years of hands-on experience in support of two or more of the following technical areas: Windows Servers Systems, Unix Systems, Networking, Storage, Citrix, server virtualization, Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP), Database Administration (DBA) (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server), application software support, network and application monitoring
  • Ability to follow procedures under stressful conditions
  • Directing actions or working in a Network Operations Center, Major Command Communications Coordination Center, Tactical Operations center or comparable is preferred
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision
