    GDIT is seeking candidates to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Under the I2TS 3 task order, INSCOM ensures reliable, uninterrupted availability of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Management (C4IM) including: networks, hardware, software, engineering, and specialized tools at the point of customer need to support INSCOM's mission. INSCOM and its MSCs provide the enabling layer to connect the Army and its tactical formations to defense and national intelligence agencies via tactical networks. The ability to provide mission critical intelligence is dependent on the successful use of its information technology (IT) networks worldwide.



    The Research Engineer II position will support the Biomedical Systems Engineering and Evaluation Department to advance research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) of medical devices, treatments, and diagnostic tools used in military medicine. This position requires extensive knowledge and experience in prototype designing and development, computational modeling, custom machining/fabrication, and hardware/software development/automation. The role will also serve as a technical resource for a diverse portfolio of projects within the command

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:                                                                       

    • Participate in RDT&E of novel treatment modalities, medical devices, and equipment used in combat casualty care and operational medicine, including but not limited to: extremity/junctional tourniquets, compressive wound dressings, medical device sterilization systems, physiological monitoring systems, and medical diagnostic tools.
    • Configure research equipment for protocol-specific data acquisition and control applications, to include developing custom software to automate or synchronize processes, integrating communication with multiple pieces of equipment or subsystems, and processing of real-time data.
    • Aid in the design and fabrication of custom hardware components needed to execute research protocols.
    • Draft research proposals, test plans, human-use protocols, animal-use protocols, technical reports, and peer-reviewed manuscripts.






    • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 1+ years of experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering.




    • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
    • Required Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
    • Desired Computing Environment certification: MCSA Windows Server 2012, Solaris 10, Linux+, VCP5, etc. 



    • Experience and knowledge in quantitative physiology, mechanical design, material fabrication, electromechanical systems (controls), and signal processing (including analog and digital signal processing).
    • Proficient in medical image processing, data acquisition and control software.
    • Proficient using LabVIEW, MATLAB or C/C++, and CAD software.
    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to function on multidisciplinary environment with high efficiency.
    • Self-motivated, self-monitored, and able to work well under pressure both on an individual and team basis.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    • Technically verse with a proven track record of research experience in biomedical field.
