Job Description

Responsible for the design and development of voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks.

 

1. Analyzes voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites.
2. Configure and maintain infrastructure devices to include routers (ISR4000), switches (3850, Nexus 9000), Firewalls (Cisco ASA series), Accelerators (Riverbed Steelhead) and Crypto devices (KG175 & KG250X). Technologies supported: BGP, OSP, EIGRP, Multi-cast, IPSEC tunnels, ACLs, NX-OS, ACI Mode environment.
3. Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM) experience configuring and maintaining access control lists (ACLs).
4. Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) CallManager experience providing add/move/ change requests.
5. Implementation and administration experience with SolarWinds product line.
6. Configure networking and server hardware per DISA STIGs.
7. Analyzes network topologies, traffic and capacity requirements.
8. Responding to and resolving incident tickets and outages.
9. Creating and maintaining documentation and drawings (Visio) for network infrastructure.
10. Configure and maintain PacStar Systems (IOS based routers and switches)
11. Configure and maintain L3 Comm Hawkeye III SatCom Terminal.
12. Install and maintain network cable infrastructure to include copper and fiber termination and testing.
13. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel and may have supervisory responsibilities.
14. Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
15. Participates in special projects as required, may serve as technical lead.
16. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
 
 

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications

 

1. Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network analysis and design.
2. Advanced knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.
3. Advanced knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
4. May require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment.
5. Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM) experience.
6. Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) Call Manager experience.
7. 8-10 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.
