Job Description

Overhaul, Test (hydrostatic, pneumatic) and set various types and sizes of valves (globe, gate, ball, check, butterfly, pressure reducing, relief etc.) and High and Low pressure manifolds. Electronically test and set electronic valve controls and pressure switches. Document repairs and testing, evaluate, plan, test, and operate electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment and systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Perform upon request engineering work concerned with the evaluation, planning, overhaul, testing and operation of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment and systems for commercial, government and military uses.
  2. Provide equipment/specialized training and technical guidance as required.
  3. Identify and document client’s functional requirements.
  4. Maintain computer generated testing documentation and material inventory files.
  5. Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  6. Participate in special projects as required.
  7. Position requires travel CONUS/OCONUS at any time


Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.


Skills and Abilities

  1. 3-5 years of related engineering experience fabricating, maintaining and repairing mechanical components.
  2. Knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
  3. Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.
  4. Mechanical aptitude required; knowledge of Navy shipboard protocols, positive attitude; team oriented; good organizational skills; able to read technical manuals, drawings and procedures. Able to lift 50lbs; work in both inside and outside conditions; able to climb ladders and stairs.


Additional Preferred Skills and Abilities


  1. Level I certification in one or more specific technologies may be required, depending on job assignment
  2. Documentation development experience (models, drawings, manuals)
  3. Active Secret Clearance highly preferred
  4. Must be able to obtain DBIDS badge for access to Naval Bases and Facilities      
  5. Project management experience
